Background
Taste of Tahiti is a vibrant non-profit organization founded in 2014 by passionate young people from the island of Huahine, dedicated to celebrating their rich culture through dance, music, and food. With the support of selected members from Huahine and Roger Mou, the inspiring liaison between Huahine and California, they brought over 70 enthusiastic individuals from French Polynesia to the welcoming city of Temecula.
In a heartfelt performance at the City Hall of Temecula, they were honored with an official proclamation from the City Council. This connection is beautifully commemorated on the third floor of City Hall, symbolizing the strong bond between the sister cities of Temecula and Huahine. Each year, we will empower a local non-profit organization or chapter to foster positive change and financial growth within our community.
Objective
Our key objectives are to actively raise awareness about nurturing future generations, preserving our traditions, and promoting our islands and Pacific neighbors through culture, food, music, dance, and community engagement. It is critical that we reconnect the Pacific triangle, encompassing Tahiti, New Zealand, and Hawaii. We are determined that the Taste of Tahiti event will drive a significant positive economic impact on these islands by boosting tourism and showcasing their invaluable natural resources.
Mission
Let us celebrate our cultures and values, just as our ancestors have done for generations, by embracing a simple yet powerful principle: let our actions reflect a pure heart.
Celebrating our 12th year!
Although we did not have our TOT in 2020 due to the covid, we will be entering our 12th edition in 2025 and we will celebrate this edition at the new Murrieta Hot Springs Resort on Saturday & Sunday, October 25 & 26, 2025 with a new exciting theme of Ho'olaule'a, Hawaiian and Tahitian style festival.
Our team
Each and everyone of our team members are on volunteer basis.
We are extremely thankful to all for their time and efforts that makes this event a success.
