Taste of Tahiti is a non-profit organization, founded in 2014 by a group of young people from the island of Huahine; those people wanted to share their passion for their culture through dance, music, and food. Selected members of the group from Huahine and Roger Mou, the liaison between Huahine and California, introduced the Taste of Tahiti and brought over 70 people from French Polynesia to the City of Temecula. These people, from the islands of Huahine, Raiatea, and Bora Bora, connected with the city along with our official sister group, Puahi's Polynesian Dance Company. The group performed at the City Hall of Temecula, where they received an official proclamation from the City Council. A reminisce of this connection is showcased on the 3rd floor of the City Hall which signifies a working development between the two sister cities of Temecula and Huahine.
MFREO (Maison Familiale Rurale d'Education et d'Orientation) Huahine is the sole and official beneficiary of this endeavor to benefit all of its current young and unfortunate people who have been misplaced based on their inability to adopt the pace of the new era of current society in French Polynesia. Funds have been allocated to MFR Huahine where these young people are able to sustain life with necessities such as food, shelter and transportation within their islands and French Polynesia.
Our main objectives are to raise awareness about cultivating future generations, keeping traditions and promoting their islands and Pacific neighbors through culture, food, music, dance and people. Reconnecting the triangle of the Pacific, which includes Tahiti, New Zealand and Hawaii is imperative. One of the organizations goals is that the Taste of Tahiti event will be able to bring a positive economic impact on these islands, bringing tourism to the islands natural resources.
Our goal is to be able to take the "Taste of Tahiti" to you, where ever you are, and expand this event to new cities every year.
To share our cultures and values as our ancestors have been promoting through generations with one simple ingredient: show your actions with a pure heart.
Sharing And Combining Cultures Together Through Food, Music, Dance And People.

It presents the perfect picturesque landscape to hold the Taste of Tahiti on Sunday October 9th, 2016 from 10am to 10pm.
This event would not be possible without the generous cooperation from Wilson Creek Winery & Vineyards and especially CEO Mr. Bill Wilson, and our key sponsors including: Air Tahiti Nui, tourism bureaus, various hotels and resorts located on these beautiful islands, food suppliers, restaurants, and other related local and international businesses. Funds raised will be donated with a designated percentage to a chosen local non-profit organization in the City of Temecula and/or beyond.
